The explosion-proof structure that is applied only to electrical equipment that does not act as an ignition source during normal operation and functioning is designed to enhance safety in environments where such equipment is used continuously. Even electrical equipment that typically does not act as an ignition source can become a potential ignition source, such as through insulation failure, leading to electrical sparks. Therefore, structures that are designed to minimize the likelihood of generating such ignition sources are referred to as increased safety explosion-proof structures, and there are limitations on the types of electrical equipment to which they can be applied. Even equipment that does not act as an ignition source under normal conditions cannot be applied if it cannot have its safety increased.
